Arja Speelman is married to Tony Speelman and has three adult children who graduated from TDCH and now have families of their own. Arja, encouraged by her father who was a painter and her mother who did handwork and sewing, has been creative all her life. She uses a variety of media in her work, whether it be watercolour, acrylic, or even textiles. She has had artwork in exhibitions and currently has a piece of textile art in an exhibition that is travelling across Canada.
Arja is inspired by the Canadian landscape and creation and strives to honour God and bless others with her artwork.
“Remain in the Vine” was painted as a reminder to us to stay connected to Christ through His Word, the church and godly people so we can bear fruit that will bring light to the world. It is based on John 15:1-8.
